Ferret Snack Attack

Even though ferrets spend a majority of their lives sleeping, they more than make up for that downtime while awake. In order to remain energetic and playful, ferrets need a high-protein, low-fiber diet. Many ferret owners supplement their pets’ regular diet with treats.

A diverse range of ferret treats are available for discerning owners to select. Since ferrets require a diet rich in meat, many treats come in corresponding flavors. Some of the most popular flavors available in the market today include chicken, bacon, and even peanut butter. Ferrets are no different from other pets in that they deserve the occasional reward – a treat can provide a boost in morale as well as energy.

My son hates going to daycare. I feel sad that I have to leave him there everyday – but I don’t have any choice as a single parent. I have to make a living to provide a good life for him. Of course he’s too young to understand all of this.

The only thing that seems to console him is his ferret stuffed animal. He loves that stuffed toy so much. He’s had it since he was a toddler, so it’s pretty scruffy, but he doesn’t seem to mind. He often asks me when he can get a real ferret. I tell him that he has to be a little bit older. For now, the stuffed ferret will have to do.

Keep the Stink Away

ferretgroomingproductsskincoat-ferretsrunwildbrand.jpgJust like a cat or a dog, ferrets need to be groomed. This may include brushing them, bathing them and clipping their nails. Ferrets have a bad reputation for being stinky animals, but this reputation is more likely a product of people not properly grooming them.  When humans don’t bath regularly they get body odor – the same thing happens to ferrets.

Don’t scrimp when caring for your pets – ferrets included. They deserve good care just as much as any child. You can easily find ferret grooming products at any online pet store. A well-groomed ferret will be a happier ferret. And a good smelling ferret will make for a happier owner.

My children are such fans of the outdoors. They find pleasure on breathing the fresh air, admiring the green grass and trees, and the scent of the earth whenever we go to our cabin for vacation. But one thing we all love the most is the family of weasel-like ferrets living near our cabin. My children have already given each of the ferrets a name and we have somehow managed to share the place near our cabin with them. Over the years we have develop a fascination for the adorable animals.
That is why I’m only slightly surprised to discover that ferrets are popular as pets for Americans. What surprised me is the great number of Ferrets Run Wild collectibles which best showcase the love for outdoors and ferrets I found. Among the merchandises I have laid eyes on are:

- FRW posters
- FRW T-shirts
- FRW kid’s hats
- Ferrets stuffed animals
- books on the Adventures of forest the ferret

frwposters-ferretsrunwildbrand.jpgAlthough ferrets are more closely related to polecats, they look more like weasels. This 38 centimeter animal with a 13 centimeter-long tail often come in black, white or brown colors and are most commonly domesticated and trained to hunt rats or rabbits.

The animals were not very popular as pets to very young children because of their tendency to bite. Thus, domestication of ferrets as pets only became popular in the 1980s. But since then, these cuddly animals continue to bring joy to both the young and young at heart. In fact, the naughty but cute nature of the ferrets made them star a lot of merchandises. The long list includes ferrets run wild collectibles like FRW posters, T-shirts, hats and other cool items for ferret lovers.

Curious, Energetic & Playful

Ferrets run wild

Despite their cheeky nature and cute appearance, ferrets were originally used for hunting or also known as ferreting. Ferrets run wild to chase small rodents and rabbits out of their burrows. However, this is now illegal in many countries, but is still being practiced in Australia and the United Kingdom because this method still proves to be more successful than the other hunting technologies developed for the same purpose.

Because of their curious and energetic playful nature, ferrets are more commonly kept as pets nowadays. They are very similar to kittens, which is why they are preferred by many animal lovers. The minor downside of the ferret is that they tend to nip when they are young. Though intending it only in a playful manner, it can get annoying for an owner who does not fully understand their nature. This habit can be eliminated with proper training, and usually dispels on its own with age. Ferrets have quite a long lifespan of around 6 to 10 years, but in some cases can live into their teens.
